Meet the Bean
This organically grown coffee from Hacienda la Amistad shines not only in the cup, but in its commitment to the environment and community. 97% of the land that Roberto Montero’s grandfather first purchased in the early 1900s has been dedicated to forest preservation, with 6,000 of the original 10,000 hectares given back to the government of Costa Rica for the for the preservation of La Amistad International Park. The SHB (Strictly Hard Bean) is the designation which means that it was proudly grown in soil over 1350 meters and the EP (European Preparation) means that the green beans were hand sorted for defects.
The Inside Scoop
The soil is a nutrient rich volcanic loam and helps produce a coffee that shines with bright acidity, notes of caramel, chocolate, lemon and floral. This coffee is a perfect Fall brew that will engage your senses and get you ready for any spooky surprises!
