Meet the Bean
This is a beautiful and delicious Fairtrade, Organic (FTO) coffee from the Marcala growing region of Honduras. As a country, Honduras is the 5th largest coffee producer in the world, with a wide array of coffee growing climates. This coffee in particular got our attention not only because of growers' dedication to organic farming, but also for the quality of the coffee they create. These varietals of beans are predominantly Bourbon and Catuai. They are grown at a rather high altitude of 1800 masl (meters above sea level) designating them as Strictly High Grown (SHG), finishing their process though a process termed European Preparation (EP), which boasts hand sorting the beans to ensure quality.
This coffee has a bright vibrant acidity to excite your palate. We tasted sweet mandarin and maple syrup while soaking up the aromatics of spice and clove.
Pair this with some Mochi pancakes while on Spring Break (or pretending to be) to put a big smile on your face.
