A STORY OF
IN EVERY CUP.
BUILDING TRADITION
We’re committed to growth by acting responsibly and working collaboratively — our motto is "Coffee should be Good to the Earth and Good to People" and we make every effort to live up to that. It is a cultural practice in our company that every decision is deliberate and intentional.
Good to the Earth
When it comes to working with coffee farms, we find that direct, grass roots efforts by supporting organic and reregenerative practices have had the best environemental impact on the our ecosystem. With larger farms — we prioritize responsible farming, looking for green credentials like organic, fair trade, rainforest alliance, bird alliance and women-owned businesses. For smaller farms, we often work with family-operated growers that are unable to get official, expensive organic certifications, however, we still purchase the beans at organic rates to encourage this type of farming.
GOOD TO PEOPLE
Did you know you can recycle your coffee bags? We partner with Savor Brands R+R® Upcycling Program so that your coffee bags can be up cycled into things like children’s playground equipment. You will also see TRADITION COFFEE and our manager Rachel in their advertising! Share in the aloha by bringing back your empty coffee bags next time you stop by the roastery.
SUSTAINABLE TRADITION
All of our coffee grounds and chaff, a roasting byproduct, is donated to Justin Ingram’s Mauka Mushrooms farm. He grows oyster mushrooms with the goal of diverting organic agricultural byproducts from landfills to grow nutritious food and build healthy soil with mushroom production. Join TRADITION in being good to the Earth by supporting farmers & shopping at your local Farmer’s Market.
